In the new airport terminal in Nuuk, a dedicated taxi lane is being established to ensure passengers have good and easy access to taxis – even during busy times. "In the coming years, we expect a significant increase in air traffic to and from Nuuk. Therefore, we have chosen to future-proof the airport and increase the service level for taxi companies by establishing a dedicated taxi lane. Simply put, to ensure that there is space for both a growing number of vehicles and to serve a growing number of passengers," says communications manager Mikkel Bjarnø Lund. "To finance construction and maintenance, we have also chosen to introduce a fee for using the taxi lane. Just like many other airports around the world," he adds. Mikkel Bjarnø Lund also apologizes for the communication mishap regarding the new taxi fee. "Previously – and due to an internal misunderstanding – we announced that it was a tax. But that is not correct. This is a fee for using the airport's facilities. I can add that at KAIR, we have obtained the necessary permits to introduce and collect the fee. At the same time, I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for the confusion the misunderstanding has caused," he adds.
